Stone Effect Painting Tips

Using a dry stiff stippling brush a medium grey paint is applied all over the stone work.

When dry the face of the stone work is lightly sanded leaving the mortar lines coloured and the stone work slightly stained.

The sponge is loaded up with the required stone colour (using a brush) and then the sponge is dabbed over the face of the stone work.

Other colours are added to the sponge (such as dark earth mixed with reddish brown) and dabbed randomly over the stone work. We supply and use Revell Matt Acrylic Paint For stone work we use: Mouse Grey for the first coat Sand and Dark Earth for the stone colour
